Audiology

What is an audiologist?
An audiologist is a professional who holds a doctorate (Au.D) in audiology services.  He/she is fully trained and certified to diagnose and treat disorders of the auditory system including hearing loss, tinnitus, Meniere's, dizziness and balance issues, among others.  They will often work quite closely with an ear, nose, and throat (ENT) physician to help rule out medical conditions that could be contributing or causing auditory symptoms and disorders.  Audiologists are also qualified to prescribe and fit hearing aids based on need.
